Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wedding fever as special commemorative mugs released
MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry have been heralded as “game changers” and “free spirits” with two mugs released to commemorate their wedding. The souvenirs were unveiled by pottery firm Emma Bridgewater ahead of the historic event.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will wed on May 19 at Windsor Castle’s gothic St George’s Chapel and a host of souvenirs are expected to be made available so fans of the Royals can mark the eagerly-awaited occasion.
And some of the first will be available in April, created by Bridgewater, a pottery firm closely associated with previous Royal landmarks.
One of the new mugs features the bride and groom’s names, the wedding date, and the words “Game Changers, Free Spirits, Big Hearts & Well-Suited”.
It is adorned with a row of crowns and hearts in red and blue, and comes with a bespoke backstamp
The second mug features a classic hand-applied spongeware design, with the couple’s names and wedding date, alongside regal scrolls and crowns in blue and red.
They cost £19.95 each and are being hand made at the Emma Bridgewater factory in Stoke on Trent.
Bridgewater said: “At Emma Bridgewater we are proud to continue the honourable tradition of making pottery to mark national events.
“We have been making commemorative ware since 1985, celebrating events such as the Diamond Jubilee using traditional techniques in our factory in Stoke-on-Trent.
“Royal-themed pottery made in Staffordshire can be traced back to the time of Charles II, and we are thrilled to see celebration through pottery continuing in 2018 with Harry and Meghan.”
The souvenirs will be available in Emma Bridgewater shops and online at emmabridgewater.co.uk from April 30.
It was revealed today that Harry’s bride-to-be is visiting the Duchess of Cambridge to help calm her pre-wedding nerves.
While Meghan “appears confident” to the public, it is said she is worried about settling into life with The Firm and spends time visiting her future sister-in-law.
A source said: “Meghan may appear confident when on royal walkabouts, but she does have some pre-wedding butterflies – not about Harry, but about her new life.”
What’s more, as Meghan cannot often go out in public without getting noticed, it is said Kate and Prince William’s home in Kensington Palace of grounds, where both royal couples live, is often where she goes.
The source said: “She can’t potter about on the High Street, attend gym classes, or jog around Hyde Park.
“Instead she is confined to yoga at home or visits to Kate and William in Apartment 1A.”
