Breaking News – Emma Bridgewater launches Harry and Meghan wedding mugs

Pottery brand Emma Bridgewater has launched its Harry and Meghan memorabilia ahead of the royal wedding in May.The souvenir mugs are branded with the royal couple’s names, along with the date of the big day at Windsor Castle – May 19.One of the mugs also hail Harry and Meghan as ‘game changers’ and ‘free spirits’,  who are ‘well-suited’ and have ‘big hearts’.The commemorative cups, which are priced at £19.95, are also adorned with regal scrolls, hearts and crowns, along with a bespoke stamps.Commenting on the Harry and Meghan memorabilia, Bridgewater said: ‘At Emma Bridgewater we are proud to continue the honourable tradition of making pottery to mark national events.’We have been making commemorative ware since 1985, celebrating events such as the Diamond Jubilee using traditional techniques in our factory in Stoke-on-Trent.’Royal-themed pottery made in Staffordshire can be traced back to the time of Charles II, and we are thrilled to see celebration through pottery continuing in 2018 with Harry and Meghan.’The souvenir mugs will go on sale on April 30 ahead of the royal wedding on May 19, with an array of other memorabilia already on sale.Emma Bridgewater has become well-known for its colourful designs, and is somewhat of a royal favourite – with the Duchess of Cambridge visiting its ceramics factory in Stoke-on-Trent back in 2015.During the visit, Kate tried her hand at ceramic art, along with seeing how mugs are made.The Duchess also took look at the Emma Bridgewater teapot and cup collection being sold in order to raise money for East Anglia Children’s Hospices [EACH].According to royal sources, the initiative was an idea of the Duchess’ own that arose after she saw – and liked – previous charity collections created by the potter.A royal aide said: ‘It was the Duchess’s idea to approach Emma, whom she didn’t know previously, and she helped in the design process.’
