How to sew a cocktail / Bridesmaids Dress

Sewing a bridesmaids / party / formal dress with the Vivienne Teen Pattern:

This is a series of three tutorials for the teen Vivienne. That said none of the models were teen, but keen mums! I made twelve so far and can’t wait to make more. The fit is simply awesome, sizing is by height and waistline with adjustable bust lines for 7 different bust sizes per size. Sizes are 14,16,18,20 Teen. Smallest waist 66cm (height 1.55m) and largest 80cm (height 1.70m). Smallest bust 78cm and largest 98cm.
Skirt options are a flat waisted circle skirt, a pleated skirt and straight skirt with pleats or gathers. A short, cap and 3/4 length sleeve and an asymmetrical and symmetrical collar. Neckline options are higher and plunge.
I pretty much cover all the basics in the children’s versions, so here is a super pretty cocktail dress in gold mesh over stretch charmeuse satin . Although a lot will ring a bell, especially if you made a Vivienne before, there are many couture techniques and ways around problems that will be new to you. Its a complete run through and includes all sewing steps and even the cutting out.
If you need an in depth instruction you can also view the and the 50ies style polka dot dress.

The red Dupion dress in the series is just a quick run through stopping of at unfamiliar territory.
